Gazing into the cloudless night-sky
ablaze with stars,
still, betwixt and around each twinkling orb,
I behold impenetrable darkness;
the universal canvas
for each en plein air spot of incandescence
from the brush of the Impressionist.
Yet if that shadowy cosmos ceaseless
reflects an ever-expanding, boundless
space of galaxies upon galaxies of
stars upon stars innumerous,
then, if I could but see heaven’s canopy aright,
then there is no darkness, only light;
the luminous way
to everlasting day.
So, too, I believe it is with every life and every death…
We journey from
the light of this world
to
the Light of all Worlds.
