Note: As a personal, spiritual discipline, reviving my practice in the Lenten season of 2017, I revise the prayers I wrote then for each of the forty days of this Lent; each petition focusing on a theme, a concern weighing on my mind and heart or a care of my soul and spirit.

On happy humility (being a meditation on Ephesians 4.13 and the Trinity)…
O Gracious God, You, in Your Love from above, created me.
O Blessed Jesus, You, in Your Love, came alongside me to save me that I might live eternally.
O Holy Spirit, You, in Your Love, abide within me to sanctify me that I might obtain “the knowledge of the Son of God.”
In this, I shudder in happy humility that I am to know more both about You, Jesus, and what You know about God!
O Gracious God, Amen.
O Blessed Jesus, Amen.
O Holy Spirit, Amen.
Endnote: The triquetra, a Celtic symbol of three-way unity, for Christians, is an ancient representation of the Trinity.
