Note: As a personal, spiritual discipline, reviving my practice in the Lenten season of 2017, I revise the prayers I wrote then for each of the forty days of this Lent; each petition focusing on a theme, a concern weighing on my mind and heart or a care of my soul and spirit.

On praying without ceasing…
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you (1 Thessalonians 5.16-18; my emphasis)
O Lord, I beseech You, grant unto me more and more, daily moment by daily moment, as Your Spirit readies me to receive:
a mind ever-aware of Your Wonder,
a heart ever-accepting of Your Way,
a soul ever-awake to Your Word, and
a spirit ever-aligned with Your Will.
Then, through the Presence and Power of Your same Spirit, grant that I, in every circumstance, in every state of my being – joyful or sorrowful, well or ill, calm or anxious, hopeful or despairing, tranquil or troubled – rejoice to give You thanks.
Amen.
Wonder, Way, Word & Will!! I’ll be pondering these things for the rest of the day!! Thanks Paul!
Much Love!

Thanks, Loretta. On reflection, I suppose I could realign differently, perhaps, interchangeably each of these aspects of God’s Self with those of my self. For, indeed, it seems to me God’s Wonder, Way, Word, and Will – each and all – can align with my/one’s mind, heart, soul, or spirit depending on my/one’s circumstances or frame of reference or worldview.
Hmmm, I will ponder this more.
Thanks again.
Love
