May the God of peace sanctify us wholly; and may our spirits and souls and bodies be kept sound and blameless (1 Thessalonians 5.23a)
May the God of peace…make us complete in everything good so to do his will (Hebrews 13.20a, 21a)
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God (Matthew 5.9)

The space on which we stand and all ‘round us is sacred. Do we not sense it, the very breath of God, as we approach; lessening, step by step, the space between us?
And when we arrive at the thresholds of our souls, are we, trusting in the safety of peace, not drawn to offer an open, empty, weaponless hand in search of the same?
For as God is holy peace, so, we are wholly at peace. May we, knowing God is real, alway live to prove this true.

Thank you Paul!! This was amazing!
You’ll likely not be surprised that this is my fav part… “The space on which we stand and all ‘round us is sacred. Do we not sense it, the very breath of God, as we approach; lessening, step by step, the space between us?”
When I’m outside, I sense and feel God in everything… the breeze flowing through the trees, the flowers in all their glory and the many shades of green grass. For me, God IS the outdoors! And being outside is absolutely when I feel closest to God. And as you closed this post, you mentioned being wholly at peace – that’s also me when I’m outside. Walls are so limiting and fence us in, while being outside we have all that God created for us right before our eyes as far as we can see!!

Loretta, your reflection on the reality of the outdoors and how you experience and describe it is lovely! Thank you.
