Jesus said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away” (Luke 21.33)
The relentless, persevering eternality of the Word, ever-present, ever-ready to ignite, explode, transforming a trouble-weary world and church into an incarnate vision of Life.
Will we, dare we hear and heed?

Paul, I hope we hear and heed… but what is the consequence if we don’t? Does the world just continue as it is today? That would be sad indeed!!

Loretta, yes, I fear that the world continues as it is today (and yesterday and the day before that and the day before day…all the way back to time’s dawn). For, as I wrote and preached in yesterday’s sermon, for this I, sorrowfully, have come to believe: “…the litany of worldly woes, no matter the historical era, is largely changeless; save for the degrees in scope and in the numbers of those affected, afflicted: hunger and homelessness, prejudice, wars and rumors of wars, sickness, suffering, and death.” Therefore, my response to the “…relentless, persevering eternality of the Word, ever-present, ever-ready to ignite, explode, transforming a trouble-weary world and church into an incarnate vision of Life”, is what I describe in yesterday’s sermon as “Kingdom Work.”
