Empathy. Feeling in (as different from sympathy or feeling with) another. To empathize, I seek to be in another’s reality; to see and hear, think and feel what another experiences. To empathize rather than to sympathize allows me to identify with another, even and especially when commonality is not found and, hence, I cannot agree with another.
