The Inevitability of Conflict. It is impossible for me to step completely outside of myself (my self); my worldview and way of being and doing in the world. Therefore, any encounter with another always reveals differences and the potential for disagreement. Understanding this, I can engage conflict creatively: (a) recognizing it as unremarkable, indeed, normal, (b) responding with calm acceptance, and (c) using it as a lens to see myself more clearly through another’s eyes and perspective.
