The Lord said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” So, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me (2 Corinthians 12.9)

The Apostle Paul perceived the mystery of divine strength that is revealed only in the admission of (and submission to) his inescapable human frailty.
For the longest time, I understood Paul’s revelation largely intellectually. However, through my ongoing life-experience, I have discovered a pathway of power to resist self-defeating desires only through the gateway called “Honesty” in recognizing and accepting my inherent susceptibility to act on those desires.
In a word (thank you, my dear namesake Apostle), strength hath come through weakness.
