Wretched man that I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! (Romans 7.24-25a)

To refuse to love myself, particularly when my clarity of vision about my faults (of which I have many) blinds me to all else, is to deny my creation in the imago Dei and to defy God’s Love for me. For if (truly, as) God is God, then God, Who is Love, is grander than my flaws and my failures; thus, greater than my power of self-censure.
And, given God’s blessing (sometimes bane) of free-will, it is my choice, daily, at times, moment-to-moment, to believe this and, thus, live.
