For the longest time, I – predisposed to opinionation, coupled with an argumentative temperament (I may not appear this way to many, perhaps most folk, but trust me on this!) – would claim: I never have had a debate with myself (particularly when channeling the voices of those with whom I disagree) that I have lost!
As I have aged, I find myself becoming not less open, but more. Open to conceiving and entertaining ideas other than mine own; even those other than my most cherished convictions. Therefore, I, now, find myself on the losing end of at least some of my internal ideological contests!
